MARINE ACT (AMENDMENT) DECREE, 1991

A DECREE TO AMEND THE MARINE ACT, 1986

IN exercise of the powers vested in me as President of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Fiji and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and acting in accordance with the advice of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet, I hereby make the following Decree:

Short title

1. This Decree may be cited as the Marine Act (Amendment) Decree, 1991.

Interpretation

2. In this Decree, the Principal Act, means the Marine Act, 1986.

Section 227 amended

3. Sub-section (2)(h) of section 227 of the principal Act as amended by Section 3 of the Marine Act (Amendment) Decree 1989 is amended by deleting "18 months" and replacing such by "2 years and 4 months".

Section 228 amended

4. Sub-section (2)(b) of section 228 of the principal Act as amended by Section 4 of the Marine Act (Amendment) Decree 1989 is amended by deleting "18 months" and replacing such by "2 years and 4 months".

Coming into force

5. This Decree shall be deemed to have come into force on 15 February 1991.
