IT Government Upgrades

Keeping up to date with technology can be a challenging task but ITC Services is continuously working to ensure that government is kept up-to-date with the latest technology developments around the world. One of the many projects currently being carried out by ITC Services is the upgrade of Windows XP SP2 to Windows XP SP3.

For a non-technical person this Desktop Operating System is what enables the computer to run. The aim of the department is to have everyone switched to the new Operating system.

This is an essential task for the department, with it being the IT head of government it needs to ensure that the upgrade is done with all government users.

So far awareness to the key users in the various departments on the need of the upgrade and the various issues currently being faced is being conducted with CD copies of the software have been handed out to the key users to be installed on the machines that need to be upgraded.

This process is vital for all government users because if the upgrade is not done then users with the old version will not be supported by Windows updates which include security updates that help protect your PC from harmful viruses and malicious software’s.
